女子旅④キプロス〜北キプロス〜

絶賛就活中の山本です。自分のこと考えるのって難しいですね。
今日は北キプロスについて紹介します。
キプロスは、実は南と北で分断されています。
どういうことかと言うと…
1 キプロス問題の経緯
（1）キプロスは1960年に英国よりキプロス共和国として独立。ギリシャ系住民とトルコ系住民の間で対立衝突が激化したため，国連安保理は64年に国連キプロス平和維持隊（UNFICYP）を派遣。
（2）1974年，ギリシャ軍事政権の支持を得たギリシャ系住民がクーデターを企図したのを機にトルコ軍がトルコ系住民の保護を名目に侵攻し，キプロス北部約37％を占領した。以降，キプロスは北部のトルコ軍支配地域（トルコ系）と南部のキプロス共和国政府支配地域（ギリシャ系）とに分断されている（トルコ系の「北キプロス・トルコ共和国」は1983年に独立を宣言。トルコのみ承認）。
（3）2004年2月，両系代表は，アナン事務総長の呼びかけに応え，キプロスがEUに加盟する同年5月までの問題解決に向け，所謂アナン案（キプロス問題に関する国連事務総長による包括的合意案）に基づく直接交渉を再開。同年4月，アナン事務総長が提出した最終案が両系キプロスにおける住民投票にかけられたが，ギリシャ系地域において過半数の賛成票を得られず否決され，キプロスの再統一は達成されなかった。
（4）2004年5月1日，キプロス共和国は南北に分かれたままEUに加盟。

両系の主張を盛り込む形で作成した具体的合意案。キプロスをギリシャ系及びトルコ系構成国家からなるキプロス連合共和国とすること，大統領相当職の輪番制，両系間の住民の移住制限，両系間の境界画定等を盛り込んでいる。

トルコ系の北キプロスと、ギリシャ系の南キプロスに分かれていて、国際的に国家として承認されているのは南側だけで、北はトルコのみ国家として承認している、ということですね。
キプロス再統一に向けて全く動きがないわけではありませんが、今のところ、近い将来の再統一はなさそうに見えます。

そんな北キプロスへ、ちょっと行ってみることにしました。

...Anyway, today I will share about Northern Cyprus.
Actually Cyprus is divided into two regions, south part and north part.
Northern Cyprus (Turkish: Kuzey Kıbrıs), officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC; Turkish: Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti), is a partially recognised state that comprises the northeastern portion of the island of Cyprus. Recognised only by Turkey, Northern Cyprus is considered by the international community to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.

It doesn’t seem that nobody have tried to reintegrate. But it seems that it will not happen soon in the future.
We were interested in how’s look Northern Cyprus so we went.
There are the walls between southern part and northern part. So when we pass it, we have to go to passport control.
南北の間には塀があり、通過するにはパスポートコントロールを通る必要があります。
ちょっと分かりにくいかもしれませんが、奥に人が並んでるのが見えますか？
普通に国境を越える時のような雰囲気でした。
「北キプロスのスタンプがあるとギリシャへ行けなくなるから、スタンプは別紙に押してもらうのが良い。」みたいな話を聞いていたので、ちょっとドキドキしていました。私たち帰りもギリシャ寄るけど大丈夫かな、と。
結果、スタンプは押されなかったのでほっとしました。

It was like cross the border.
I heard that if I got the stamps of Northern Cyprus, I can not visit Greece, although I don’t know it is true or not. So I was little bit afraid to cross. But finally the officer just looked passport a little and he didn’t give me stamps, so I relieved.
パスポートコントロールを抜けると、こんな感じ。
両脇に色々なお店が並んでいます。
南のボーダーの街、ニコシアと比べるとちょっと静かで寂しい感じがします。
After passing passport control, there are some shops on both sides of the street.
Comparing with Nicosia, the border city of southern part, it seems more quite and not busy.
レストランなども少なめでした。
歩いていると、観光客用かなと思うレストランを発見。
There are not many restaurants too. While we walked around, we found the restaurant looked “for foreigners”.
やはりトルコ系の場所なので、トルコ料理がたくさんでした。
ボリュームがあって安いので良かったです。
As I explained Northern Cyprus is a place of Turkish people so there were many Turkish dishes there.
It was cheap and delicious!

やっぱりネコだらけです。お昼寝してるみたいです。
There were really lots of cats in Cyprus. The cat seemed sleeping.
雨が降ってきたので、傘を持ってなかった私たちは先程の傘のカフェで雨宿りすることに。
Suddenly it became raining then we didn’t have umbrellas so we went to the café to out of rain.
店内を見渡すと、こんな素敵な食器でお茶を飲んでいる人がたくさんいました。
店員さんに「あれ何？」と聞くと、トルコスタイルのコーヒーだと教えてくれたので、私たちもオーダーしてみました。
コーヒーは濃くて苦めです。
コーヒーが苦いためだと思いますが、左に水、奥の赤いドリンクはローズシロップ、手前の三角の蓋の中にはトルコのお菓子がセットになっています。
こんな感じでお散歩して、ニコシアへ戻りました。
"ちょっとそこまで"という感じでふらっと行けます。
地元民は、南側で仕事するけど家は北側、なんて人もいて日々南北間を行き来する人もいるみたいです。
南とは雰囲気がガラッと違って、やはりトルコ系だということを感じます。
キプロスに行った際には、ぜひ北側も見てみると面白いかもしれません。

When we looked around the people in the cafe, many of them ordered same drinks, the cups looked so beautiful and we haven’t seen these. So we asked the waiter about the drinks then he said it was Turkish coffee so we ordered them.
Turkish coffee was thin and bitter.
Maybe because of it was bitter, it came with water, rose sirope and Turkish sweets.
Such like that we walked around the town a little then backed Nicosia. You can visit Northern Cyprus if you have just a few hours.
I heard that some Cyprus people lived in northern part but worked at southern part so these people passed the border everyday.
The atmosphere of Northern Cyprus is very different from Southern Cyprus. So I recommend you to visit Northern Cyprus also if you visit Southern Cyprus!
